Spreadsheets updated 4-30-07 11:00 PM EST ...

The Gold Spreadsheet only shows transactions from the last 30 days. This is because google limits the size of the spreadsheet to 50,000 cells. If anyone wants the full version, which includes EVERY trade of the 2006 W Gold fractionals from day one, send me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you...

Latest updates:

Plats

Gold

Judas Boxes

Enjoy...

Works fine. It looks like plats are gradually but smoothly trending upwards. Current profits for gold flippers, however, are looking grim. Perhaps the end of Mint sales has finally come, numbers will be released in a week or so, and prices will be bumped back up.

It did not take long for the four piece sets to go from 2,200 sold to 10,000 so it seems a lot of dealers and flippers bought them and now are trying to make a quick buck. It will take a few months before the supply is absorbed by the market but once they are gone and the coin rags start to talk about how these are by far the lowest mintage in the series more people will take notice and the prices will start to firm. Not to mention if the price of gold goes up after the FED cuts interest rates towards the end of this year and the dollar starts trending lower.

Just a simple observation of the latest prices and the direction

and velocity of price change. Other then that, thank you for your

very kind efforts. While some folks couldnt care less about this info,

a lot of us really appreciate it. It takes a village to make a coin collector.

Great work bill. I know you have put some time into keeping us up to date. really appreciate. Got grades on the only two $100 plats i could afford. FS69 and FS70. Gonna fund my prezy $1 mint roll (all mints) collection with the profits.

I find the plat spreadsheet useful because I may be in the market for MS70s to complete a second set. Prices are still moving up!

Yup, moving up and I'm holding longer term than I expected. That is one scenario that may be occurring across the board, result in fewer views ... nonetheless, THANKS for the hard work !!

Judas Boxes refer to a ten set box of ASEs totaling 30

pieces of silver. A somewhat unfortunate reference to

a biblical occurence, as to its numismatical aspect.

I just checked the PCGS Pop reports for the plats and it looks like updated numbers are posted. $25 remains the hardest denomination to get graded as a 70. The easiest is the $50. The relationship from tough to easy is: $50 > $10 > $100 > $25.

The numbers below show the columns 68-70 and total; the last column is my calculation on the % of total getting 70s.

    21125 2006-W $10 Statue of Liberty MS 1 14 7 22 32%
    21121 2006-W $10 Statue of Liberty First Strike MS 465 229 694 33%

    21126 2006-W $25 Statue of Liberty MS 1 21 10 32 31%
    21122 2006-W $25 Statue of Liberty First Strike MS 436 175 611 29%

    21127 2006-W $50 Statue of Liberty MS 21 15 36 42%
    21123 2006-W $50 Statue of Liberty First Strike MS 376 234 610 38%

    21128 2006-W $100 Statue of Liberty MS 26 10 36 28%
    21124 2006-W $100 Statue of Liberty First Strike MS 1 619 291 911 32%

These coins remain as islands in a sea of green on the PCGS pricing page; their prices are already too lofty to be influenced by the recent rise in platinum base metal.

Observations....there is a Tremendous amount of 2006-w MS gold hitting, and yet prices are holding...that is a VERY GOOD SIGN....

    FloridaBill
  • Options
Thanks Bill! Another observation is sellers dumping loads of
$100 MS69 Plats for $2500 BIN to make a quick buck and not
allowing many auctions to run their course to determine what
buyers will REALLY pay for them!

Buyers are paying 3-4 times the price of the other coins in MS69
    but the $100's are a 'dime-a'dozen" @ $2500 and only generating
2x as much their price. Sellers have really hurt the market because of this.
Just think! In essence, a $100 MS69 Plat should be selling for $3,000 - $3500 right now! image
  • Options
Dollars to Donuts all the MS69's on the bay were graded in the last two weeks. Insightful isn't it image When the coins shipped at the end of Dec, they got turned around and went to PCGS, came back, auctions went up and that is what you see. Give it a little time to let the mad rush subside. They have only really been on the secondary market for two or three weeks. Wait three months, there are only 500 that can be possibly sold as singles, those that got MS70's from sets may flip and then go get 69's for sets. If they are smart they are doing is simultaneously but I bet most are not.
  • Options
The real acceleration has been in the MS70s. That same pattern was true for the AGE 20th sets, the ASE 20th sets, and now the AGE MS fractionals.

Is there a reason you skipped the gold 1 ounce data?

    Nice work bill.

The prices on the pcgs 1/4 uncirc MS69 seem to have quite the range on them. From the mid 200's to mid 300's by your chart. What part of the "land of fraud" (sorry recent threads have me on this kick) Florida do you live in?

Are those % of MS70s what most people are seeing on submissions?? It seems like everyone reported results with % of MS70s more in range of 15-20%.

Are the MS APEs really coming in at 30-40% MS70??

Yes, The one ounce was available far too long ago for the data to still be accessible (the sheets on the gold and platinum start from the very first ebay sale), plus all the various "flavors" of the coin would have made the sheet very awkward. Also, at least for the time being, the real value is in the fractionals, although I suspect the 1 oz piece will be a winner in it's own right in a couple of years.

I just export it, save as .xls file and work on it on my own PC. That way one can graph only what they want to.
