This is a quote from the comments field of a paypal payment I received.
At first, I saw it in an email confirmation and thought it was a spoofed Paypal payment, but then I checked on the paypal web site, and sure enough , it's real.
I guess the guy doesn't want his wife to find out what he paid... (it's for a 16-D dime)

Its hard to imagine a coin collector not wanting to share this wonderful hobby with his lovely wife (including the exact actual prices paid for each coin and the planned annual coin buying budget for 2007).
If the coin (or coins) get delivered to the person's place of work he/she may not want a co-worker (or employee if is is the boss buying) to see what is being spent for a hobby related purchase.
From what I have heard during conversations with other collectors most wives and partners tend to take more than a casual interest in what their better half does during spare time.
The workplace instead can be a source of never eneding grief and gossip for those who are not careful so keeping a low profile is not a bad idea.

that's why many of us have private insurance policies for the express purpose of not having to buy postage and insurance that would give away the value of any coin. Who would think there is a six figure coin in a box with 5.00 in postage?

Lame. I always tell my wife how much I paid for my coins. $19.95

Rick, Clearly there are those with an extreme desire for privacy. I hope they don't take offense to your use of the work "paranoia" as I don't think you meant any. Some of these types don't like to buy on ebay because it is so public also. --Jerry

Some insurance companies require that no invoice or anything else identifing the value of the object being shipped be included in the package. The invoice should be shipped seperately.
