I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am new to trying to sell coins that I have collected. It seems that the prices PCGS gives you are only a guide to what you might sell it for. For example, I have a 2006 W Gold $ 50 one ounce American Eagle PCGS PR 69 Ultra Cameo. The PCGS guide says $950. I have seen that you can't sell them for that much. I am asking $850 and get no responses. I have PR 70's in different coins as well. What should I sell them for? It seems tough out there. I surely don't want to give them away for cost. Help me please.

Check for past sales on ebay for what your selling. It will give you an idea of what they are going for.

Go to Ebay, Teletrade, & Heritage web sites and do a search for completed auctions for these coins. This will give you a better idea of what people are paying for these.

In general after fees it will be difficult to recoup your money for most modern coins including gold bullion. In many cases the Gold Proofs sell for less than cost from the mint. i.e. I just picked up a 2006 $50 first strike PR69 20th Anniversary gold eagle on Teletrade for $725 or $812 after buyer fees. Original Mint issue price was $880. Now add the cost of grading and I think I did pretty good.

I think what I am trying to say is I hope that you collected your coins just for that. The enjoyment of collecting I would not expect to break even on short term buy/sell items like you mentioned.

Now to answer your question on pricing, e-bay and Teletrade are the best for checking modern prices and for older coins Heritage is a pretty good guide. Be careful on Teletrade because the auction prices listed usually do not include the 12% buyers fee.

Welcome, Wellzy! Where are you listing your coin? I agree with the others that you should monitor comparable coins on ebay, and then expect similar results.

Note, since this is a 2006 coin and it's still available from the Mint, the supply is still abundant, and the demand hasn't yet caught up with supply. This is usually the rule rather than the exception for any coin that is less than a year old.

I note that the PCGS price is now $960.00, so they must be getting their data from somewhere, and the coin might sell if you keep re-listing it. A listing price of $850.00 doesn't seem unreasonable. Good Luck. Regards, jmski52

Just do your normal search but on the left hand side of the ebay page you can scroll
down and check mark the box that says 'completed' and then click the seach and see
    what comes up. Good luck,

Generally you have to do the search first for the current items and then the options will appear on the left side.
