Ever have 2 zer0 feedback bidders going at it on one of your auctions?

And their accounts were created the day you made the listing, would you think something was up?

Sounds like someone from around here messing with youimage

    or:

Someone trying to shill bid on your behalf?

I would go with the first statement.image

I would hope most people here are more mature than to create accounts just to mess with people.
    Probably wishful thinking though....

In this case, I still don't think it is people from here screwing around....could be a huge coincidence (hopefully) though I would be watchful.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Could just be two eBay newbs doin' battle. Which could be a good thing!

Could be the same individual, with two newly created accounts playing games, I hope not.
More than likely it's two newbs doing battle, all you need is two. image

I have had this happened (not new accounts day of listing though) and canceled all bids and put on blocked bidder list - I didn't want to scare away buyers because of suspicion of shill bidding and was just plain nervous.

Maybe no ones playing with you, you might just have rotton luck..lol.. Not one but two newbee's. If i'm not getting paid, 98% of the time the bidder has less then 5 feedbacks.

All right, a THIRD newly created account has joined in the fun, bid up a few auctions and has a name similar to the first two - a name followed by four digits.

If it is any of you here clowning around please stop it. What ever you're up to, it's working. My paranoia is peaked. Sure, I could cancel bids and block those bidders but there is little to stop them from creating yet another account and continue (possible) malicious activity.

I guess I'm just going to have to take my lumps if they come.

I've had this happen 4 times when I was selling my 20th anniversary gold eagle sets last year. All with less than 5 feedbacks and they never paid. Two of them strung me out for more than two weeks before they said they couldn't/wouldn't pay. I even put in my ad that I woldn't accept bids from those with less than 10 feedbacks. BUT, E-bay won't allow you to place that into place as a buffer so you have to manually block those bidders. I realize we all have to start from scratch sometime, but, not with a $4000 + coin sale! GOOD LUCK! Ray

Is'nt there a way to block bidders with a history of less than X?

On E-bay I'm pretty sure you can ONLY block bidders one at a time. OR, ONLY if they have a negative history. I checked it out and I think you only have 3 options, -1, -2, or -3. That's not very good. I guess if you have bidders with less than 5 or 10, you have to block them when they bid. BUT, If they bid at the last minute, you won't have time to remove their bid. AND, if you try to re-neg, they can have E-bay give you a black eye even though they have no intention of buying the coin. I guess we can also say: seller beware too! Ray

Yes once. They bid up a roll of teens ans 20's Wheaties to $50 that usually sold for about $10. I felt so bad I threw in an extra roll.

I can't say that I have seen two that signed up the same day, but have had that
scenerio several times and they always stopped short and got outbid! Good luck!

I had a zero feedback that day created account bid on two coins for over $5K. All went well, paid with a cashiers check.

image 98% sounds about right to me, the other 2% are International buyers.
