"So you need to add in the proof mintage of the 2006-W plat, which you persist in refusing to do in this and other hype threads you have posted in."
Why?? dont follow logic...lower mintages=higher prices regardless if one decides to substitute a higher mintage coin in their collection.
Should we add 1907 St gaudens mintages to the high relief? Regular 1907 is $850, and high relief is $12,000....why? low mintage for high reliefs.
100 years from now the 2006w UNC will be a multiple of the proof for this year....Just like the 2004 proofs will be a multiple of the UNC for that year.
Key dates or types or mints are always more valuable....that's just the basics.
Answer my question. How many MS 2006-w plats have you bought at current ebay market prices?
None, and why would I? I bought the number that I wanted to buy when I bought them. I bought the Proofs and I bought quite a few Uncs as well. I paid a slight premium over melt, which is a good part of my own investment criterion.
How many of your avatar coins have you bought to hold? Why don't you pile into them and buy another 3 or 4 for investment? Why don't you buy a few rolls of 1875 dimes if you think they are such a great deal? How much over melt did you pay for your coins?
If I decide to use your criteria when I invest, I will sent you a note to that effect. Until then, I am using my own common sense and frankly, I haven't been disappointed the way I've done it for the past 30 years in the bullion market. Thank you.

Actually, quite funny and worked on a lot of levels. I vote 'quick wit quote of the year' nominee.
As far as the series goes, I'm glad I got in on the ground level at a few hundred over spot for the rarity factor. I'm going to do the others in the series as well, rarity or not.

I've been collecting a set of the series each year for the past four years as well, I've enjoyed the designs.
