1934 Peace Dollars - Guess the grade
I found these two Peace dollars in a box. I know that some Peace dollars have a weak strike. These two seem to be no exception. Help me out. What does each of them grade in your honest opinions.
Coin A

Coin B

I thank you all for your input.

Edit: I can't "reveal" the grades. The coins are raw as I found them. Of course I buffed them up with some baking soda before taking the pictures. That's what you're supposed to do, right.

I have been a collector for over mumbly-five years. I learn something new every day.

but again this is a hard series to grade from images for me, its hard to tell where the crappy strike ends and rub begins.
<< <i>what's with the spots on both ? environmental damage? >>
I'd go with environmental damage. Of course they are more visible in the images than in hand. Both coins have good luster in hand. But the images show everything as if looking through a 10x loupe.
I wonder if the one with the spots would slab very high, if at all due to ED.

Your's looks nicer than either of mine.

(there was a lot of other stuff in that box. I'll try to post more.)
<< <i>EF45 and AU55 IMO. Don't think any ED--just a little crud. You migh try a light sudsy ammonia (not regular ammonia) soak (a few minutes) on number one--like soapy water but more effective--use a camel hair (artist grade) brush very lightly and rinse very well in distilled water--pat dry--you'd be surprised at the positive result. MS 70 might also be an alternative.--I don't think either will hurt this coin(As I duck for cover!) Don't touch number two. >>
I'll give it a try. As you say, I don't think I can hurt this coin. Maybe I'll break down and buy some MS 70. I have some Indian Head cents I need to turn blue anyway. Love those blue IHC's.
Anyway, thanks for all the grade information. Now to decide if I sell them, keep them, slab them, etc. Any thoughts on any of that? I appreciate any and all input.
