    Agreed. Why didn't they just describe it as a POS and move on?

    I'm wondering if it wasn't found with a metal detector. It looks simmilar to some coins I've seen come out of the ground.

    That's what I thought. Probably covered in a lot of crud and was cleaned to ID the coin or something.

    my question was:

    Sir I am interested in this coin. I asked if the coin had original luster.


    the reply I got:

    We have not altered the coin.


    Great, that was not my question. Another slime ball to avoid.

    I agree that it looks like a dug coin that was harshly cleaned. I don't expect much "original luster" on a g/vg coin, but that coin is truly hideous.
