user rankings: which is best 1 or 10

I have never been able to figure out if 10 is high and 1 low, or 1 high and 10 low? what are your thoughts?

If it's a "top 10 list" like David Letterman does, and lots of people do this time of year, 1 is best.

But for the CU forum rating, it's not a top 10 list, it's a rating on a scale of 1 to 10, like when you're rating a girl's looks. 10 is best.

I can see the confusion because 1st place is 1st place and 2nd follows. Normally on a scale of 1 to 10 Ten is best.

It would depend on which babe I'd stand a better chance with..... a 5 would likely be the best I could reel in.

I just bumped someone to a 10 and was dropped down from 4.94 to 4.7--oh well, no good deed, etc. My user rating is the last of my worries. How many votes will it take me to get a 1.0.....Bill
