<< The total number being counted in this thread include those in the 4 piece sets as well, counting just the singles the number will be much less then 500, probably no more then 250-300. >>
I believe he has an excellent point. Since we are counting the number if 4-coin sets, as long as we come out with less than 2500, there is no reason to question the mintage reports. I think we should instead be counting the number of single 1 ounce coins. Then if we come out with more than 500, we know that something is fishy.
I heard they were making a French version of Medal of Honor. I wonder how many hotkeys it'll have for "surrender."
In addition, there are some very weak, nevous hands included in the above #'s that have to flip before the CC bill comes in. No market cornering to be found here! LOL

I totally skipped the 3 -pc Gold anniversary sets. I was on site ready to pull the trigger, then I thought, nahhhhh, 10,000 of ANYTHING is a lot of coins.
<< <i>Early projections are that forumites purchased 25% of the mintage.
Now, is that a good thing? >>
As bidask said above, he did not know they were available. If I had to guess I would say that most people who collect these buy from a specific dealer or Ebay especially since you usually could not buy these type of coins directly from the mint. The fact that it was publicized here a lot of people were able to get in before most other collectors even new they were available. I would also venture to say that if they were not advertised here and so many forum members bought them they would not be all sold out yet.
I'm wondering if I'll get the ones that say backordered... I'm thinking these will only get filled when in stock and reserved orders aren't completed due to cancellation for some reason.
One lesson to take away is that we need to be careful about when we begin touting new issues. If the forum frenzy had started a month earlier, the Mint would probably have struck another 1000 pieces to satisfy the demand.

If the total ends up being more than the number struck, I am going to be really suspicious
