another eBay loser to block--update

Why losers like this actively bid on items without bothering to ask THE question(s) before the end of the listing is a mystery to me. This clown calls on the phone two days after receiving our invoice and asks "What does Terra Firma mean?" He is politely given a translation of the term, to which he responds "I'll take care of it." No payment after two weeks, no response to an unpaid item dispute, and a quick review of his feedback shows me all I needed to know about his true character.
What does "Terra Firma mean?"
The idiot emailed today with the lame excuse that "someone told me it was fake." Too bad the dimwit emailed directly instead of responding to the eBay unpaid item dispute. Just earned himself an unpaid item strike, and will likely be negged. All this after he was given a guarantee of authenticity and an unconditional 7 day return privilege. The real
about this situation is that the underbidder had emailed us prior to the end of the listing, and was very excited about his chances. Maybe he'll get the chance after all...

I guess he thought this was some special coin recovered from a special place, eh?
I guess your tongue in cheek auction went over his head. Will you make a second chance offer?

Well, if he had to ask what terra firma means, he couldn't have too much capacity for any thought, eh?

What part of the description implies tongue in cheek? I thought it was quite explicit. A very well worn, genuine 1794 Flowing Hair half. Nothing more, nothing less. Probably will make a second chance offer to the underbidder, who appears to appreciate the significance of the coin, if for no reason other than the date, to add to a date collection.

I don't mean to offend but I have found it better to write for the lowest common denominator in order to not have the problems. It's when people try to get cute or educated that problems can pop up.
Doesn't excuse the unpaid item dispute or his email, but it is still, imho, valid when doing an ebay auction....
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Actually, better than half the general population doesn't have a clue--period. I personally thought it was a well written auction, albeit a bit over some heads. I like the coin, however, over-graded IMO--looks PO1. Braddick might love it!
Check the bid history and it sure makes me think the winning bidder is beyond inconsiderate. He screwed TWO people in this transaction.

This is a perfect situation for "Second Chance" -- too bad the scammers pretty much killed that service.
As far as how many people don't know what "Terra Firma" means -- remember, we're talking about eBay people. It's probably closer to 90%.
