Here is my latest coin photo, I just imaged it last night! The coin is a little hazy on the obverse, but not too bad.

I thought we needed a good old fashioned coin post. image

    Here's my latest purchase:

    image

For those keeping track of my collection, this was one of the two remaining commems that I needed. Honestly, I had given up hope of completing this set once ANACS switched to the new slabs. I have already necessarily capped the collection at 2005 (although I continue to buy modcomms, I don't slab 'em).

So now all I need is a 1996-W $5 Olympic Cauldron. Woe to any underbidders when that sucker ever appears.

This is the latest coin that I picked up for my Morgan set. Just starting the set so it will be years in the making. image

The only image I have is the one from Don until I can get a new pic of it.

I cherrypicked this ragged clipped Seated Dime for less than $15 on the Bay right before the twins were born. I haven't had much time to bid since then.

  • I picked this up recently. It's a very interesting read. Was published in 1885.

Oh, forgot completely about this book I got. Published in 1890 (and in excellent condition -- doesn't appear ever used) it is loaded with information I doubt is found very many other places if anywhere. Really neat stuff.

I notice the title of that book includes the words "American Coinage -- Ancient and Modern". I wonder what someone from 1890 would consider to be Modern Crap™ image?

This would be my latest, although I've an 1850-C $5 coming in on approval, and an 1806/5 DBH that should arrive any day now. This was picked up at the most recent Baltimore show... gotta luv that peripheral toning!

I posted this on the darkside last night - I'm not entirely certain that these are welcome on the U.S. coin forum (do tell me if they are not). Latest purchase PCGS encapsulated, received on Nov. 21. I must confess that I am an incurable toned lover. U.S. or otherwise!

And would they look at a coin from the 1880s and say it was dipped crap because no coin minted then should look blast white?

I bought this in the recently concluded Legend Auction #5. The image is Legend's and the coin will find a home in my Dansco 7070 album.

Here's a very difficult (albeit not near impossible like 1883-1885) coin to find in business strike for this series. I just bought it from JJ Teaparty.
