Poll: Is the Reverse Proof SAE (or GAE) the "key date" of the set?

RYKRYK Posts: 35,800 ✭✭✭✭✭
Is it even part of the proof SAE (or GAE) set? Or is it a separate entity?

We had a dispute over this in another thread. So far, PCGS does not inlude this in the registry set, but I suppose that this can change at any time.

Comments

  • I expect that PCGS will include these in the Proof set registries. Can't speak for the gold, but the key date for the silver will remain the 95-W.
  • Same as above regarding key date SAE being the 95-W... but the reverse proof SAE is the only mint product in the last decade (or longer) that I actually like the look of enough to buy.

As a single coin yes, but for the entire set the proof DCAM will also play a role for a complete 70 set. More so for the AGE than the ASE.

I expect that it will eventually become part of the set even tho it doesn't fit with the others unless the mint intends to start making a reverse proof version from here on out. My guess is that it will be 10 or 20 years before they do another.

It is the key to the GAE set but the 95W is the key to the silver eagle set.....

Correcto-mundo! And you'll only have 250,000 to choose from. Nothing less than a 67 no less.

I'm thinking the mint just might produce more of these in the future. If for no other reason than to keep their hands deep into our pockets.

So, how many of the bashers collect/like moderns but may not collect SAEs/GAEs?

Funny listening to "modern crap" bashers....like a broken record image

In all sets, Ther is more then one KEY. The 95w was the KEY in the 10th ANN set you could only get it in that set and Now the 20th ANN you can only get the Rev PR in this set. if they did not reless the MS coin i would have side that is the coin but then they sold it as a single. All we can do is buy and hold and some of us will do good and some will wish we did. image

    Hoard the keys.

The ignorance is astounding. Makes me wonder why some feel the need to bash what others collect.

Seems like a layup to me....yes, its a key date, but the '95-W obviously still remains the key.
    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!
