Jeff Funderburke, aka Pepperdoodles..........................

keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
About a year or so ago I recall someone posting that eBay seller and Mississippi Coin Dealer Jeff Funderburke(pepperdoodles) had died. I wondered if that can be confirmed with a link or several independant replies with some circumstances?? Thanks.

According to the Social Security Death Index someone with the name Jeffrey Funderburke, born in 1960 and issued a SS# in Mississippi, died on October 9, 2005. Ihave no idea if this is the same person to which you refer, but is sure sounds close. You can enter his name into the searchable database to see the entire entry for yourself.

Does anyone have any more information on Jeff? I bought some coins from him a few years ago.

My favorite doops rant, which was aimed at his nemesis DCAMFranklin...

    ------------------
ok, tell them who you are chicken little. you are about to make headlines on the c/u and be gone for good. i'll even make a market spread on the bets and take legitimate spreads that it's i who ends up exposing him instead of he himself so they can see you are the motherload SCUMBAG OF ALL. what BOY wont be a man and now come clean with his own identity?? i'll tell you who,a rotten, scheming no good to the core scumbag that the coin business despises, thats who! that's why he dont want you good honest dealers and collectors to know who he is. so hey wannabe dchump, tell them your email adresses, your ebay id's,your m/o's so they can see the hypocracy and scheming for themselves. then we'll move on to serious debate of any real issues anyone cares to discuss about coins, auctions, honoring ana rules (which by the way folks does not include auctions, anyone who cares to put thought into this read the disclamer right under the bid slot on any ebay lot out of millions listed). try it with heritage, superior, stacks,b&m,my good friend jay doing well at scotmans,it dont work that way fellas. the ones who do it are overgrader scums for the most part not wanting to be negged rght off ebay, their last forum to operate in) auctions are big boy venues, not for whiney babies. just because they all dont know who you really are dchump and i do means what? nothing yet. but your 15 minutes of fame days are over on here bud. i've had it,so have they. you are a liar,a cheat and what every coin collector or coin collection inheritor fears the most. a con man, ripoff street mentality punk undeserving of the values, dignity and monetary rewards and joys one gets out of trading rare coins in an honest legtimate fashion whether it be via done deal auctions, direct approval sales or buying a collection to blow out wholesale. you fit none of the above which is why you have been ousted from every legitmate trading forum you ever attempted and people, none on here really know yet,but soon wont touch you with a ten foot poll, not even to whack you upside your gutter bum head.
    -----------------------------

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Where the heck is DCam?

From what I understand, he was battling quite a number of health issues and was in and out of the hospital quite frequently. I had always assumed he was a lot older.

I never understood why Jeff wrote his posts as he did. I pm'ed him and the answer was logical and well constructed. (It did lack a period or two and a capital letter or two, however. image ) Basically, it was nothing like his usual rant that he posted. If he has indeed passed away, I will miss his posts and the fact that he was willing to take time to answer a serious pm in a serious fashion.

Jeff posted that way on purpose, but he never did in many pm's with me...

He knew he was seen as a villian, and he played the part and thrived in its role...

He was always good with me, I liked him and miss him.....

so noone is certain if he has indeed died??although he may have been gruff he still had a penchant for listing quality material at eBay with a tilt towards CAM/DCAM Jefferson Nickels. i haven't noticed any offerings from him in many months. he had in the past gone through periods where he vanished and listing were non-existent, but he always returned. this time the length of abscence has been notably longer.

the doops user profile states that he last visited on September 10th, 2003 at 8:19 PM. this would seem to indicate that he changed his username. does anyone recall what that name is??

    Doops say:
there's pros that blow and joes that know and you are a chimp want to be pimp flopping like a fish on the bank of life with a blindfold on that got dropped like a sack of potatoes on a cold winter night

I think he was a Mississippi rap singer. He had substained a serious injury before he started posting here when he was remodeling his porch and a 4x4 fell on him and cruched the hell out of him but I don't know if that had anything to do with his death.

I remember him throwing heated insults at me that I thought were completely unwarranted.... and a lot of incoherent babble....

His eBay record appears that his sellers & buyers know he died while he had some outstanding deals:

I stopped reading his posts for this reason. He was obviously a very disturbed person. I hope he has now found peace.

I bought an item from Jeff on Ebay in late 2005 and posted feedback on 11/6/05, so it must have been one of his last auctions. I don't remember any communication from him or Sandy as to what happened. And that is a bit strange as I had done alot of buying and selling with them over the years.

I remember the coin was as described (even though he was known for his hype) and I set the coin aside in my "tuck back box" as he used to say.

He was quite a character - and I will miiss him.

The coin forum and the coin business is a better place without Doop.
As for whether the world is a better place, I will defer to others who may have known him outside of the coin business.

Man, he sounded like he was a more grumpier ol' codger than in his 40's. Hate to see how I'll be when I get that age.. HEH. I actually liked to "try" and read his posts. Some were actually right on if you could figure his writing out, and thought a little bit.
