Is it my imagination, or did a thread disappear?

I'm pretty sure there was a thread titled "Where were you 43 years ago today?" I saw it before I headed to the post office this morning. I assume it was about JFK, (you know, the guy who's on the half dollar), and was planning on responding to it when I got back from doing my shipping. Now it seems to have vanished. Did it turn in to a flamefest or something?

Make it hairy-anything and you have a deal
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

So whats the deal ? Every year a thread pops up like the one you nuked. Relax a little it does the heart good. If a Kennedy thread popped up every day the nuke action would be warranted. This time its very iffy.

awful funny that numerous OT threads get posted pretty much daily by "circle of mistrust" personnel and they don't get nuked.

Nothing porno or gross at all in what I said.
Wonder why they zapped it?
After all, we wouldn't have the Kennedy half dollar if JFK hadn't been killed 22 November 1963.

Ray, that thinking makes no sense. following that logic, it would be reasonable to have a discussion about the different species of eagles in the world just because they're on U.S. Coins.

When JFK was shot and they decided to put him on the half, didn't they have to modify a 25 year minting law to prematurely stop the production of the Franklin half?

I remember that time well, Keets. I was an 18 year old Army PFC when Kennedy was killed.
He was a popular president, and the switch from the Franklin half to the Kennedy half was absolutely due to public sentiment at the time, over his asassination.
Kennedy probably would never would have been on a coin, otherwise.

And like a few other have said it really remindes me that Basic Training was a long time age.
A speach by that man inspired a 19 year old to jion the Air Force back them.
It also made me as a older man put together a collection of the coins bearing his likeness.

Maybe not technically, but he can move them smoewhere where we can't see them anymore, which is essentially the same thing.
