PCGS wouldn't grade it, would they?

Unless they own an 1881-S in MS64
Newb, no they wouldn't grade yours. It has to be readily identifiable by year and mintmark in some way.

My #1 Low Ball Peace Dollar Set
<< <i>That's awesome CC...I love that stuff. I want to submit this one but the date is gone...just...gone..

Probably not...unless it had a 'D' mint mark.
Maybe this might get a PO?

<< <i>Bottom of the Pops. I guess that makes it a Pop Bot™
And I would have graded the first 1885-CC and the 1887/6-O as PO1 and the 1891 as AG3.

<< <i>Newb -- Why couldn't they grade that one? I am puzzled. It is a D reverse with an s mintmark. It could ONLY be 1921-S. I would send it in for review. >>
How do you tell it's a D reverse? The feathers on the arrows?
I'll gather up the battle weary veterans and send them in.
Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, the arrow feathers are unmistakable on a D reverse.

Is that "S" unique to the 21-S? If so, you could get that slabbed as PO-01.

If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
<< <i>The reverse is unique to the 1921 date. The s on that reverse is unique to the 1921-S by extension. >>
What are the chances of that? It's begging to be slabbed!
<< <i>The reverse is unique to the 1921 date. The s on that reverse is unique to the 1921-S by extension. >>
It's so worn I could not tell it is an 1921 reverse. I'm almost certain that "S" is only on the 1921-S, so that seals it. The owner of that coin should send it in -- some of the "PO-01" collectors might pay some serious (i.e. hundreds) money for it.
<< <i> I'm almost certain that "S" is only on the 1921-S, so that seals it. >>
What do you mean by "that S"?
A Reverse (used only in 1878 -- 8TF reverse)
B1 Reverse (used one some 1878)
B2 Reverse (used on some 1878 and a small fraction of 1879 and 1880 dates)
C Reverse (used on some 1878, 1879, and 1880 and all 1881 through 1904)
D Reverse (used on all 1921 and no other dates)
If you look at the tailfeathers on that coin, it could only be the D reverse.
BTW, some Chinese counterfeiters did a superb job of creating rarities by creating their own hubs to make dies. However, they made the critical error of using a 1921 reverse (D reverse) as their template and used it to make rarity dies of other dates. They pop up all the time on eBay and can be easily dismissed by anyone who recognizes this.
