Those Proof and Rev 70's may be going for a lot less than they should be if these milk spots become a major problem.

I have 10 sets that were received from the Mint's first shipment. There isn't a mark or spot on any of the reverse proofs. Only glanced at the other two coins as I don't intend on having them graded and they looked very clean.

  • Ouch..it's disappointing when you get a coin like that.I hope the mint can remedy their spots so to speak..

  • Steve,
The last picture you posted has a mark, just to the right of the folds in the gown, that appears in the other images as well. So, I believe that the coins all came from the same die about the same time.
The planchets don't look like proof planchets. They look more like Canadian Maple Leaf planchets. I am not impressed at all. I may not submit mine blind, if they ever come.

Should a milk-spots RP coin be priced at 10% less than the one without spots ?

i don't believe ANYONE will get a 70 from pcgs simply because of the spotting problems.

I wouldn't want a spotted one at 50% discount. Your results may vary.

On Mint State, you are correct. For the RP though, you are incorrect. PCGS is giving PR70 grades for them. I've had 2 and others have had more.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
