EDITED: Post Removed (sorry)

It was pointed out to me that it probably was not a good idea to provide personal information in a public forum.

Clearly, this near disaster is your wife's fault.

So the moral to the story is....empty your safe before moving it. image

At least you were smart enough to unloaded guns and ammo and some other stuff...one of those might have hit the floor, discharged and wounded a home-a-lone coin collector. And I might add, it might have taken off more than three years of your life!image

edited to remove reference to the original post that has been removed.

Seriously, always ask, "how bad can it get?" Perhaps moving the [heavy thing] would have been a better job for a time when someone else is around to call 911 if it fell on you. I replaced the main feed to my house electric a few years back. I did it hot since the power company, city, and permit inspectors couldn't support work on the weekend. I took 3 levels of safety precautions. The last one was to have my girlfriend at the time standing by with a fiberglass pole to pry me loose if I got hooked up and couldn't turn loose.

Always plan for the worst and hope it doesn't happen. Corrolary: When riding a motorcyle, dress for the crash, not the ride.

It's generally advised here that coins and guns together in a safe are not a good mix. Oils and such.

It may be advised...but it is without foundation. I have stored them together for 25 years in a safe - with NO detrimental effects.
Wait - - - maybe that is why I never got milk spots on my ASE's? Cheers, RickO

Hey, oil is good for copper and gunpowder has sulphur in it which is good for silver.
