Funny you should ask. One of the reasons I chose to hide mine was because people were giving you a hard time on the auction you were bidding on yesterday. I razzed you a little and then I felt bad when I read some of the other comments. Another reason is that I expect this auction to go for quite a bit of money and some bidders prefer that crooks don't know they're expecting an expensive package delivered soon. There is a significant desire for anonymity that pervades the PCGS coin forums. --jerry

I can think of a couple of reasons.
For items involving a lot of money it doesn't need to broadcast all over the net and you don't need to worry if your going toe to toe with a buddy.
Also, If you were to have more than one for sale, it keeps other sellers from being able to just go in and work off your bidder list without having taken any risk or expense.
Oh........ and another reason....... I sometimes forget to click the button when I use an old template.

Not on private auctions. The only reason Goofbay could do it, and a lot of other things, was because eBay allowed them access. Once eBay nuked that ability, it can't be done anymore.
