Hello, I have been reading this board for almost a year now and gained so much insight into the world of collecting. You are all so friendly and patient with the newbies and I know we all appreciate it. I am a Jefferson fan and just completed my Dansco Album from 1938-Present. What a great feeling it is to complete your first collection. I sent my Westwards in for grading and did ok. I am still developing my grading skills and hope to get better. I am looking to build something new and was looking for some suggestions. I have started visiting some of the dealers in my area but I don't find them as encouraging as the people on this board. I would like to attend a coin exhibit or show. Any suggestions are welcome but I really just wanted to say thanks for all the help.

Why not start a Kennedy half dollar, Franklin half dollar or Walker half dollar or both or all three to coinside with the Jefferson dates.
There are still some very affordable coins with that series providing you don't go overboard!

Read listen and learn. We are really lucky to have some truly great numismatists on these boards.
Stick around for a while and ask a lot of questions and post as many pics as you can-----most of us
love to see coin pics because we are all coin collectors (did I really have to say that )
Jeffs make a great set- I still cherish my first set of Jeffs.
Give us a general idea what area you are in and someone can suggest a coin show that might not be too far away.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

There are two types of the '56 proof Frankie. And a clashed '55 called a bugs bunny. The series
is relatively short in major varieties but some spectacular coins exist including a '49-S PL.
