Below is the response from the adoption agency. We need a total of $1250 and so far I've raised $650. I'm going to contribute $350 to bring the total collected so far to $1000. Member TKD7 promised to donate another $50 to bring the total donation to $1050. Fabfrank won the charity auction and wants me to auction the cards he won to donate to the cause. Attached are scans of the little boy.
I finally heard back from Beijing regarding the child they feel most needs surgery right now. His name is Tian Longlong - he is 11 years old and lives in the Liming Family Orphanage in Hebei province. It sounds like he’s been through a lot already in his short lifetime: Longlong was abandoned at birth, was taken in by a family who cared for him for a year, and then was abandoned again when the family found out he had congenital heart disease. The heart condition was fixed through CHI-sponsored surgery in July of 2005. However, Longlong also suffers from hypospadia, a fairly common urogenital birth defect. Longlong’s doctors want to surgically fix this defect, as well, in order that he may live as normal a life as possible.
I’ve attached two photos of Longlong. The cost of the surgery is approximately $1250. Please let me know if you would like to proceed with the donation and we can work out the details. And let me know if you have any questions whatsoever! Thanks for your patience in waiting for this information – and thanks for your desire to help an orphan in need. We appreciate you so much!

I wanted to let you know that Longlong’s surgery has been completed and he is recovering well. I just put the report that I received from Beijing in the mail to you, along with two new photos of the little guy. Would you like to pass this information on to Tom Daley and Frank and Judy Massaro yourself, or would you prefer that I mail them something from here? Either way is fine with me – just let me know.

If possible, post the photos here Greg. It would be nice to see how our "small community" can make a difference in a childs life. LMk the status of the sale of the cards and if we need to come up with additional funds for another childs surgery.
Thanks for the updates. With all that is going on in the world today its good to see how a few people can make such a difference. I hope we can continue to help out these kids.
