I think a nice DMPL morgan is a beautiful thing. However since I started hanging out here I have come to apperciate lots of different coins. I am now bitten by the token bug.
I have only been in the coin collecting thing for about 2 months. At first I didnt have much attraction to Morgans. But when I looked closely at the design, I really did like it. And to top that off, the first show I went to had a bunch of gorgeous toned examples which I really liked. And the rest is history...I have about 10 of them right now. No major key dates, but some nice toners.

I only have one for my type set. I don't like Morgans, partially because they are so common, and partially because the design isn't very appealing to me. I simply don't understand collecting by VAM. Any variety that requires an electron microscope (or at least a good loop) in order to descern holds no interest to me.
In 45+ years of collecting I've dabbled in Morgan Dollars a couple of times, but never got bitten by the bug. I put together a one a year set of Morgans, but it didn't last. I ended up selling them.
Today all I have left is an 1878 dollar set and a one coin from each mint set, both in Capital Plastic holders, and an 1882-S in a PCGS MS-66 holder that I keep around for type.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Since I'm a variety guy for the most part, I could collect them for VAM's and enjoy that immensely, but I'm in over my head just with wheat cents

I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
