As some of you know I've been looking for nicely toned coins from 1955. Board member Manofcoins came up with this one for me.
Very tough year to find them like this.
Of course I payed him as well in a very smooth transaction. Your thoughts on the coin and grade?

Candidate for MS67, but MS66 on a bad day. I'd be surprised if NGC gave it the STAR not so much because it isn't worthy, but instead because of NGC loose, internal policy of not awarding darkly toned coins the STAR.

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.

as one whom has viewed literally thousands of mint sets, that one looks NT to me.
Lets not assume every coin he touched as now suddenly AT.

Who's the new troll?

This comment is aimed at several posters, rather than at just one or two in particular - the jokes (about a serious issue) are getting old and are in poor tatse.

Why not? He's a proven and admitted coin doctor. I'd feel much safer in assuming coins from him are AT then assuming they're not. Of course I understand how it works in here many times. The "It's all AT unless it's my coin, if it's mine then it's NT for sure." attitude prevails quite often.
MOC is scum and a dredge to the hobby. All coins coming from him deserve a very hard and scrutinizing second look.

Perhaps so, but that is not the same as "assume every coin he touched as now suddenly AT". Additionally, making such assumptions is probably no wiser than failing to take a second look.
was the fact he put a BST with a link to the recent fiasco. He invited all his friends that trusted him most to try and boink them.
That said...... Want a story? OK here it goes this thread is two years old, he bought this coin on ebay at the time and later sold it to me for what he paid. He provided a link to show me this which wasn't necessary. I say this because I had already checked. I seen nothing wrong (with the coin) at the time and still don't, as many others have pointed out. I'm surprised the image is still here.... but I'm kinda glad, as it speaks for itself. Except the coin has very nice luster not showing.
Sincerely stman (always calls them as he sees them.)
