Bought these yesterday and I'm gonna submit them to PCGS

I'm now a collector. Gonna work on a low grade type set, all PCGS encapsulated of course. Nothin' but the best. (I'm going to submit them.)

IMO, you'd me happier in the long run with a Dansco album for those coins and save quite a bit of money.
In fact, you may have just inspired me to to the same. A Dansco 7070 type set in AG-VG!
Tom
A marketing ploy? Instead of "B******ner toners" will we be seeing "Snake's Smoothies"?
Are you trying to corner the worst known lo pop market perhaps?
Guess I should get out the 'ol Junk Box!
Economy is $18, but why give PCGS the money?

Hmmmm. Is this a conspiracy with HRH??
Will we see a "Slab your Junk Box" promo?
I'm not giving it to them, they're earning it. A low grade type set encapsulated by PCGS would be cooler than a Dansco album half filled with coins. I like seeing the grades on the holders. I like seeing the coins in holders.

EUREKA!!--I have the solution:
To date ASA Accugrade, Inc., has graded and authenticated over 630,000 individual items valued at over $380 million dollars. We are the fastest growing coin grading service in America today. The reason?
* We offer the lowest prices in the industry- 30% to 50% lower.
<< <i>Seems like the grading fees will substantially exceed the value of the coins ! >>
I doubt a few hundred in grading fees will be a serious financial hardship for this submitter!!
I think my collection deserves to be graded by a better grading company than Accugrade. I don't think they will grade them accurately.

How far can they miss on junk like that?
Isn't Accugrade a contraction of the words "accurate" and "grade"?

I'm going to try and find the lowest grades but I want the coins to be as defect free as possible. I want to avoid rim bruises, cuts, uneven wear, etc.
and
PCGS
How cute...

Maybe "Last Strike."

No, it's "accursed" and "grade."
You could slab 'em in Coin World holders and offer a bona fide written iron-clad guaranty of authenticity to boot!

I bet your girlfriend would...

more like a contradiction of the two, RYK

only thing worse than paying $18+shipping to get in slab is to pay it and get a flip back with a pen slash through one of their reasons for not slabbing
<< <i>It makes me sad to think how many people there might be out there *intentionally* wearing down their coins to get them slabbed as PO-1. Seems contrary to good stewardship... >>
Especially for classic coins. But they do exist from natural wear.

True. For classics which are already in that condition, I think it's totally cool that these old, worn so-called "rejects" are finding love and value among collectors. I just worry that this growing "certified PO-1" craze will encourage more people to intentionally degrade coins for profit, much as the shake-and-bake AT artists are doing with toning.
I would have no qualms about wearing an Ike down to a Smoothie™.

Very Lo grade coins are easy to grade--there are only 3 choices!
I bet Accugrade would be spot-on!

I think it's because the 1838 P's had stars on the obverse. Large and small star varieties, if I'm not mistaken.
