Give it a dip and it might go 65. In it's current original and crusty state I give it a 64. BTW, if you dip it I will kill you. IMO it is worth more original and 64.

My knee-jerk reaction when I saw this was a 64. After looking at it, it may go 65. I'm not sure if I like the toning or not. I think I would need to see it in-hand to determine that.
I think that Saint could be anywhere from an AU58 to an MS66 - it looks like it has a touch of rub on the breast and the knee and also at teh highest points on the eagles breast. If when rotated in light they show up as dull, you'll get an AU58 - If the luster break is very minimal it could grade MS63, If there is no descernable luster break MS64 - It's a little tough to grade based on a computer screen image.

Nice 64. I would pay a small premium for the toning (25%) but no toning is worth more than that to me.

Steve tried to get a 65 numerous times, and even though DH twice told him it was a 65 in his mind, they only had a 2 of 5 non-consensus...so it's come close, but no cigar.
You really have to see it to appreciate the colors. The toning is NOT dirt, I assure you of that. It's a rare case of copper interaction and skin. In hand this coin has the look of a great treasure. Online it looks more stained and too busy.

For any Vintage Port lovers out there, this Saint is as deep and complex as a Fonseca '63.
I'm not sure how problematic the rims are on this coin, and I think I see some light chatter here and there but......
I'd still have to say a 66 for the series. Please post more pics if you have 'em.

More like a Taylor 55.

64? Though I can think of other grades that might fit as well.
Where's the color? The weak 4 in the date is interesting.

If it was a generic, it'd be a 66.
I see many 65 Saints with lots 'o hits...

If he bought it at the US Gold Sale in 1982, I would have notes on it in my auction catalogue.

Too many nicks for me as a 65, but is a fairly stong 64!

Some great guesses!
