I don't disagree with you, but this is precisely the reason why posting any coin in this forum which is less than absolutely perfect is a terrible idea. And I include myself in that comment. Something about sitting there in front of your computer makes you immediately want to find some fleck or scratch to point out.

Given a point for the color maybe. The hairlines/scratches on the shield bother me too. It'll still sell for premium bucks. I wonder if it's more attractive in person. Still a gorgeous coin. Nice originality.

Really nice coin, but I cant see how an MS68 can have a staple scratch like that.

Just to play devil's advocate, the image is huge, and the scratches relatively small. With the lighting, you can't really tell depth. It's very possible that in hand, with the full lustre, the scratches are far less visible. Of course, it's also possible that the coin is overgraded, and that's that.

Purdy coin, but those scratches stick out like a sore thumb. If they were in some more inconspicuous area, I wouldn't care as much, but they're very prominent on a big piece of empty. I agree that the color gave it a bump in grade.

The images are indeed huge but I think it is possible to determine the width and depth of the scratches by looking at the images.

I think those scratches may be on the plastic and not the coin.

Wow dizz that sez it all..it is SO after the fact, and i am a pcgs guy but i honestly was gonna say..68 ok maybe but star too? not at pcgs..to my knowlege..and its been a bit..2 graded at pcgs..tough to get a 68 on that coin on our side of the road..
