Thanks, AceK! That's a really nice thing to say.
But seateddime, I must disagree with you. My thoughts on coin collecting are far different from Laura's. I guess that makes me a wannabe loser.
As for my comment on this thread, I don't know. There are a lot of very smart people here. It's tough to choose just one.

Because I don't believe in calling coins "widgets" or "generic" because, to me, each coin is a unique relic of our history with its own story. Coins, from the humblest Lincoln Cent to the spectacular 1794 dollar, all deserve our respect as messengers from the past. Each coin has a history and needs to be cherished as such.

No I don't think you are a wannable loser and everyone else will agree. - What your thoughts are not as important as that you have them, unique to you and based on knowledge you have and continue to obtain
How many other people caught that cobweb reverse other than you? Very unique talent you have.

This young lady REALLY impresses me.
Forty Answers!!!!-- Sorry either some people are deluded, or limit their expertise to "Gold" Ta-to-kan-ka (s)!!!! LOL-----Of coarse I am the world expert on pre- 1800 Nepal Gold (thank you MR Clapp!)
<< <i>This young lady REALLY impresses me. >>
Me too. So much so, that when she first showed up, I thought she was an Alt
I looked at where she stores her pictures, and found she posted with another name on these forums briefly, but what is scary is if you google that name (I'll let you do the research) she is just as knowledgeable as she is her with coins on numerous other forums and platforms. Anime, Metal Detecting, I forget what else, but there was plenty. I wish I had the time and broad range of interests as she did.
I'm not sure what the "Official" ages for being a YN is - but I don't even consider her in the same category as my own YNs or myself for that matter. Her knowledge and perspective is certainly beyond that of a 18 1/2 year old.
Keep up the good work Amanda!

Except she's wrong. She doesn't know what Laura's thoughts are on collecting. She doesn't know that Laura pushes me to start a cheap, fun set just for the sake of collecting. She doesn't know that Laura rants and raves to me about the ego involved in Registry Sets. She doesn't know that Laura prefers herself to collect worn coins.
She just fell into the trap of assuming that because Laura is bashed by some, she doesn't care.... but I guess knowledge comes with experience, so by all means be active and gain that experience.

Either that, or she's read Laura's posts.

and No David, I'm not kissin up to ya, I just have a little common sense from time to time.
there are many folks here that are very knowledgeable in their particular area of collecting, and this has been an excellent place to see that expertise at times.
Thank You - all.
