What's the difference between collecting coins and heroin use?

saintgurusaintguru Posts: 7,728 ✭✭✭
Heroin is only very addictive. image

You don't have to wait for FEDEX to get heroin.

Heroin is never AT.

You don't have to get heroin graded.

Heroin might find you with a girl (high quality one most likely), coins and girls imageimage

People won't believe how much money you spent on either of them, so no difference.....

Heroin will get you in prison if you are lucky, coins only get you in prison if you are unlucky (Farouk $20 D.E.).....

Both can come from foreign sources so, no.....

Once you use the heroin its gone, and your money has vanished.

At least with coins you can sell them and get a $$ back, to repeat the cycle.

there are no Heroin Message boards

Heroin is easier to hide from your wife

Heroin users end up in slabs (not the heroin)

There are more people enhancing coins

only a few coins are illegal to own

Most Heroin dealers don't use, some TPGers are on Crack

There are no Heroin message boards where people post hypothetical ethics dilemmas.

Edited to add: I just noticed Heywood's earlier post about message boards. So I guess I have nothing funny and original to add to your silly post, JB. Sorry, man.

I read that getting off heroin only takes a week or so.

I don't think it's possible to get off coins, no matter what you do, where you go, etc. You are hooked for life image

Reminds me of Lenny Bruce's replies to the arresting officers. It's aspirin. Why the needles? I don't like the way it tastes.

    To answer the topic question.

-- Heritage won't be soliciting your heirs to consign your heroin when you die with DVDs of Selling Drugs at Auction.

-- Cooked heroin is ready for the needle while cooked coins are ready for eBay.

-- The government taxes the sales of coins, but not heroin.

-- Coin collecting is the hoby of kings, not the hobby of punks.

-- The Long Beach Convention Center has absolutely no written rules about private heroin sales on their premises.

It may be impossible to leave negative feedback after a bad heroin purchase.

Heroin addicts probably don't have buyer's remorse.

Heroin addicts don't have to worry about slow internet connections or busy phone calls to the US Mint.

The cost of herion is not determined by the price of gold, silver, platinum or copper.

-- No problem whatsoever selling your duplicate heroin quickly and without losing money.

-- Advanced heroin addicts care less and less about varieties.

-- The heroin addict always finds what he needs in the dealer's junk box.

The government promotes and subsidizes heroin use with needle exchange programs. How should coin collectors be subsidized? Grading vouchers? Bust half exchange programs?

-- A 1 oz illegal coin (1933 $20) is a LOT more expensive than any ounce of illegal heroin.

-- Not many scantily clad YNs on street corners working on getting funds for their next coin fixes.

-- The difference between the authorships of Q David Bowers and the likes of Hunter S Thompson and WIlliam Burrows.

-- Not as many firearms generally involved in a Treasury Dept sting as a D.E.A. sting.

-- Heroin addicts know a lot more about counterfeit heroin than coin collectors about counterfeit coins.

-- It is very difficult to settle an insurance claim with the USPS for heroin lost in the mail.

The government makes some effort to ensure that coin collectors get a quality product for their money.

The government makes no such effort on behalf of heroin users. Just the opposite. It is illegal to develop and market safer alternative products.
