    How absurd.

It means there are too many people in the world with too much money.
    When in doubt, don't.

H-m-m-m. Definitely a blurry picture and perhaps its was graded on Christmas Eve?

I'm thinking that if I had that kind of money to toss around on MS70's that I'd be collecting something else!

The MS series is really tough. If you are competing on the registry there are only 12 MS70's in 20 years. It's going to be expensive but someone will buy it.

Although the reserve has not yet been met.

I did not see a reverse picture. I wonder if it has a minor milk spot which would make the MS70 grade null and void.

Let's see which registry retard bought this. More money than brains.

Oh, I didn't realize the auction was still in progress.

I see the high bidder's first bid was retracted. He put in an extra 7. That would have been an interesting *whoops* had he not noticed it.

    Retracted: US $77,750.00
    Explanation: Entered wrong amount

My guess is that he did that on purpose to find out the reserve.

NGC's go for that also. I only wish I bought a 1996 MS 70(only 3 million minted and lowest mintage of the series) on Teletrade last year for $400.00.

I guess the coin couldn't stand on its own merits, there had to be some hype added... "Rumor has it that this coin was taken by a die changer from the mint." Oh, please.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Lovely. The holder added about $10,085 worth of value. That's some valuable piece of plastic! There are those that pride themselves on enwrapping bullion and common coins in very expensive plastic.

Well, I am a little confused here since this particular coin does not show up in auctioncrunchers store inventory. All 26 pages and no 1988 SAE. Do a Search on it in the store and it comes up in the middle of some auctions that end in 6+ days.

Could this be a bogus auction?

Obvious shill action with the top two bidders...take a look at the handles and histories and it will become apparent.

What do you think? I asked the seller if he could post-or send me-a pic of the reverse, this was his reply:

<< I would love to, but I cannot do so at the current time. The coin is actually my uncle’s and I am just selling it for him as a favor. You can see that coins are not what I normally sell. I took a few pics of the back, but they were so blurred I could not use them in the listing. My uncle has the coin locked in a safe deposit box and is out of town for a few days. I will contact him as soon as he is back and we can get any pictures you want.

    Thanks!

What a rip...someone retracted their bid of 77,000 dollars.
Then the sellar said no refund on the $ 249 shipping if returned and to beat that they also will charge a 20 % restocking fee.
This person is nuts....Who said crime does not pay.....
We have a few on this forum and on ebay....How can people sleep at night and treat people like this..
    thanks
