Submission Status Check

We have changed the PCGS Submission Status page. This page now requires you to log in. If you are participating in the World Series of Coin Trading you will already be familiar with this log in screen. Once logged in, you should be able to see and click on the orders we have in house under this account. You will still only see that the order has been received, when the grades are available and when it shipped. If you do not know your log in information for your Collectors Club or PCGS Authorized Dealer Account, Please contact customer service during normal business hours for help.

Only under our own account, or can we still check other submission numbers that are not our own?
Russ, NCNE
I'm guessing that this was designed to stop this practice.

Only if you have that person's log in information which I advice you not to give out.

It wasn't designed to stop this practice; it's not what we were thinking. It was designed more along the lines of a true "My Account" page and hopefully, not that this part is implemented; we will be able to add features going forward.
I know for me personally, I would like this area to eventually show you when your membership expires and allow you to renew there as well.
I'm sure that over time we can think of a few new fun things to add to it.

I just checked about a dozen of other people's submissions.

<< <i>Gee, Carol, it sounds as if you just made a few (more) enemies in customer service.
I did say to call didn't I? It will be faster than e-mail.
Russ, I have no idea why you can see others so apparently you don't need their log in?
This is new to me as well.
<< <i>Russ, I have no idea why you can see others so apparently you don't need their log in? >>
Nope. In fact, I just checked it on another system where I'm not even logged in.

Carol, Check out www.holylands.com. Many of us post our submission numbers so that others can see them, alert us when they are done, etc. It is also very common for people to post the submission results to show other what coins they made. I would very much hate to see this go away. I do like the new format quite a bit but keeping the ability to see others submissions is important to many of us.
I think part of the problem is that folks who do NOT want to share their submissions with the rest of the world couldn't stop it from happening...
Anyway, the change was made not neccessarily to stop the public viewing of other folks' submissions, but instead to create more of the "My Account" type page where you login once and get access to everything including the POP report, Set Registry, WSOCT, etc. The goal is to get all of these integrated (plus other cool stuff that I'm not allowed to talk about yet).
We've got cool new web stuff coming in the pipe and the "My Account" is basically the foundation for at all...
Thanks!

P.S. I love customer service, what temp agency do you use to find these wonderful people?? Just Curious.

Ok....fine. However, how will one KNOW the submission # to check unless they gave it out?
Also, the submission number doesn't tell you WHO's it is, right? So, why care?
Sounds like some people want to hide things? Does PCGS think mystery and hidden info is good for the hobby?
Not to step on toes, but it sounds like this wasn't PMed well (program/project managed) unless it was to be secretive. I can understand having a "my account" type of total info, but if it becomes impossible to check on a submission number without that submitter's exact login info, that is pretty
PCGS gets a lot of extra "play" by people combining submissions and many people being able to check to see their part (just did it with another member myself). You make it so it is restricted and there will be unhappy people.
Though, I am still curious as to who has complained about others being able to type in a submission NUMBER and see individual coin results. What ARE they trying to hide????

<< <i>I guess we have some paranoid looneys. The submission number and results reveal nothing about who the submitter was.

Maybe some high powered dealer just got a batch of AU58s back!
What would be nice is a line in the new submission check that also shows the PCGS coin # in addition to the certification number.

That stinks.
Nobody knows who submitted the numbers, and as Marty said, submission numbers are PMed to him voluntarily. A lot of us had fun with this, and it probably indirectly results in more submissions for PCGS.
Besides, submissions were already on the login page, so nothing changed anyway expect for ruining our fun.

The PCGS email notifications come as soon as grades are posted lately, so any Russ you got grades notifications are no longer early warnings.

Nobody knows who submitted the coins, so posted results are no more public than the cert info database.

I got word back and we're going to create the ability to "share" your submission results. What we're thinking is that next to each order in your account you'll have the ability to check "share this submission". We'll then have a page that shows all of the shared submissions.
This will take some time (don't expect it today) but we'll get it done for you.
Thanks!

<< <i>This is totally ridiculous! No, they couldn't just keep it simple and customer friendly. Now, they want money so you can see your submissions?

Laura,
Could you explain why you stated this? I guess I'm not understanding why you think there is money involved in seeing the submissions.

When I first saw this posted I knew this would be the case. No offense, but I knew the PCGS IT staff wouldn't be savvy enough to link login info to submission info...

Please send me a PM - you definitely should have access. If you don't there is a problem that we need to fix. If you can submit, you should be able to view your submissions.
