I've heard of a PF01 coin. Anyone have pictures of some pretty well worn proofs?

What coin would that be? At that grade it would have to be a proof only issue.

As Hayden has mentioned, and until Pat comes by to obliterate this grade; a PF10

PCGS had a pair of VG Proof 1895 Morgans for a long time. Somewhere along the way I recall seeing an 1865 Cameo proof dime or half dime arounf that grade too. I am going ot have to go look at the pop reports.

At first, I was thinking you might have mistaken P-01 for PR-01. Then I recalled that NGC graded one of the 1894-S Barber dimes as a poor proof.

Legend Laura might know about that one. It was graded AG and was handled by her, the Romito specimen. I think it might be the same one that NGC graded as fair or poor.

This HAS to be a contrived coin. That is one that was deliberately "in circulation" in someone's pocket for a long time. I'm surprised that NGC put it in a holder at all since the date is not visible. I thought the date has to be visible in order to even achieve a P01 grade?! This coin is a 0 grade coin.

I too thought the date had to be legible to bet a grade.
