Is a Velo Dog a canine that rides a bicycle?

No, and he should keep it in his pants.

Dennis Prager (a radio talk show host) says that men are more likely to collect things than women because men would collect women if they could. Since they can't have harems they try to compensate by collecting other things.

After reading some of the responses to this thread, I think he's onto something.

image No, it's a small caliber pistol that was used by folks that rode the bikes
that have the enormous front wheel to fend off attacking dogs.

It's small, fits in your hand, no trigger guard and the trigger folds up.

    1939 and 1949 DeSotos?
  • NysotoNysoto Posts: 3,824 ✭✭✭✭✭
Good guess, Mr. Lee. The 1939 DeSoto Custom is a one year body type, this one has the original paint. The 1950 DeSoto Custom is similar to the '49, the grill and rear fenders are a bit different. DeSoto's are a fun car to drive, most people under 30 have never seen one, I have owned various DeSoto's since 1975.

Honestly, I don't actively collect anything besides coins.

I do have an accumulation of science fiction novels, but that just sort of happened.

the occasional mineral sample and seashell have found their way into my house..

there are a lot of old bottles of wine in the cellar, but I didn't "collect" them.. nor the corks that somehow got saved after the wine was gone..

looking around, I also see some Native American pottery and artifacts, but they're art,, not a "collection"

come to think of it, there are quite a few pieces of paper money in the bank box, and some foreign notes, too...

and then there's this big envelope of interesting cancelled stamps from many years of mail...

not to mention this other, smaller envelope of coin certification inserts..

    nope, just coins image

Presidential campaign items from 1789 to the present.

I'm working on an HO diarama and train set.

    Always collecting historical information.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
