I would like to thank all the men and women who are now serving. I would also like to thank all vetrans of all the Services, especially the Marines I served with in the 3rd Marine Division (1967-1968).
I served from 76-79... then I missed it after six years and went back in at 30. They said : Oooooh , yer old Joe, we better make you go through basic training again. That was fun . After we were about finished, my company commander had me report to him and it was suggested I go to officer's candidate school, straight from basic. I was honored, but chose to keep my original assignment as a grunt (enlisted infantryman) in my second tour. Duhhhhhhhhh.
Thanks for the salutations.... but my thanks is to the active guys and gals. Officer and enlisted !
Thank you to all of the Veterans who have kept America land of the free and a home for the brave. I am sharing the two medals my grandfather received in WWI. He was hit in the leg with shrapnel to earn the purple heart. God Bless America
