I believe you will be receiving some criticism on a number of points.

  • i,m on the phone w/pcgs now. they said for $25.00 they will see if it was overgraded and if it was they will pay me the value of the coin plus refund the $25.00. I asked what the value is for a pr69 since it is not listed. they are telling me they do not know.

Would that by any chance be for linking the coin here instead of on the BST forum? And for failing to disclose a carbon spot that bothered "Gil" enough to post about it here link and here link?

    Very poor form Gil.

In a earlier post, you mentioned that you were somewhat saddened by the appearence of carbon spots on this cion.
You speculated that the spots appeared after it was slabbed. In your eBay auction, you never mention these carbon spots.

..........it has been pointed out to me that the decription was vague. looking at the top of Lincolns head there is a small carbon spot in the lettering of the coin.

Your description states the coin lists for $50. in PR67. The PCGS price guide lists the coin in PR67 at $10.

  • Enough threads with this Lincoln already. You bought it like 3 days ago posting how much you loved it and then you have two threads that say you dont like it because there is a carbon spot. Now you are selling it and you 'forget' to say that there is a carbon spot on it, which is the reason your selling it. To top it off your starting price is $10 more than you paid for it. So you are trying to make money and rip someone off with a problem coin. BTW, this should be on the BST!image

<< <i>Your description states the coin lists for $50. in PR67. The PCGS price guide lists the coin in PR67 at $10 >>

$50 would be correct for a PR69, as listed in the PCGS price guide - hopefully it was just a typo.
  • PRICES FROM THE OCT COIN VALUES....PR65R $10.00 PR65DC -$30.00 PR66R-$14.00 PR67DC- $50.00 PR67R- 40.00 ....HMMMMMMM...NO 69 I WENT BY THE MOST CURRENT INFO I HAD.

oh, and i did not start it $10.00 higher I paid $25.00 plus tax and am starting at $29.95....
    Paid $15.00 for the jefferson

Mark, the text of his auction claims a PR67 is $50.00. He continues to claim in the auction text there is no price guidelisting for a PR69. More incorrect information as the PCGS price guide (it is a PCGS coin after all...) lists a PR69 at $50. and a PR67 at $10.

One point to Xpiper for predicting the good show image
  • I'm a little dissapointed I didnt notice it at first maybe I was rushed otr didnt take the time to look hard enough. I was looking last night and saw "it". at the top of Mr. Lincoplns head a small carbon spot. I also noticed 3 more tiny carbon "specs" by the shoulder. it's still graded a pcgs pr69. But is it a bad buy ?

I think I'm more upset that I didn't catch it and probably wouldnt have bought it if I did.

You mean the seller didn't mention the carbon spots?

  • I'm suprised that you don't know how to edit the pics so the nickel wasn't on the same auction...I know, you say it isn't later on...but still..........image
  • (..........it has been pointed out to me that the decription was vague)
first, it is one coin, not two, I know it has already been pointed out.

second, with such a vague description, with nothing refering to other auctions "These are great collectors toys We are moving and I have decided to sell my collection as well as many other items. Thank you for looking." what does this have to do with collectors toys?? So you added in the carbon spot and talk about collectors toys, what does this have to do with this aution? Just doesn't make sense. You are selling a coin talking about selling collector trains??

third, again been pointed out, this is spam, put it on the BST board if you have to put it anywhere, what did you expect from everyone, you have talked about this coin in several threads?

You obviously also don't 'get' the fact that this is blatant advertising on the US Coin Forum. This post shouldn't be here, it should be in the BST forum. You should abide by forum rules and edit out the link in the top post.
  • That was not my intention either it was merely to point out that i was not happy with the coin and put it on ebay. Not to sell here. but then everyone had to have a shot wioth the accusations then picking at this and that, "there are too many pictures" they are too big, it references collectible toys on and on and friggin on. no support just critics. if it were that "offensive" then SOMEONE, ANYONE COULD HAVE PM'D ME and told me how to move it to the BST BOARD. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO. Its much easier to harrangue someone instead of offering any help.

I AM SORRY IF IT BEING ON THIS BOARD IS THAT OFFENSIVE......BUT IT DOES NOT EXCUSE THE BEHAVIOR I HAVE EXPERIENCED ON THIS BOARD TONIGHT.

  • << <i>Sellers not disclosing problems on coins really pisses me off...... image >>

you must be pissed an awefull lot
  • I AM SORRY IF IT BEING ON THIS BOARD IS THAT OFFENSIVE

If you are sorry then remove the link and quit abusing this forum.
You should also crop the nickel out of your auction. It's very misleading.
  • That's pretty shady...I'll be sure not to do business with Gil/fptoyman.

    RJ
  • What is offensive is that you have been going on an on about how you can't stand the coin, and now you list it with glowing praise on eBay, no mention of the problem (until you get chastised here), no returns, and some BS story about how you're selling it because you're moving. Doesn't look good. It actually kind of looks like you were trying to dump your problem on someone else, until you got called on it here. The BST thing is the least of the issues.

Oh, and I'm not seeing the "no returns" on any other of your auctions. I guess you want to make sure you don't get this perfect registry set keeper back. Ironically, this is probably the smallest of the items you're clearing out for the big move LOLOL. Gimme a break.

While you're making corrections, you should also put in the price for shipping (it appears that you've had some problems with that in the past).

If you were sorry, you'd edit out the original post. However, you are not, and just want to continue to exploit this particular board for your personal gain and think that you are immune to the 'rules'.

what i am getting from this thread is that PCGS grade guarantee
aint really a guarantee. They will refund you what they think it
costs, as well as charge you 25 dollars for the privilege to send it
    in.

also, i would not have any problem coins if dealers always said
it had a problem, which they don't. even eagle eye whatever
    his name is.

I don't know how you got that from this thread. The PCGS guarantee is as solid as it gets. If they downgrade a coin they pay fair market value, and they reimburse the $25 submission fee. If they didn't charge the fee, every yahoo who thinks they can grade, (but can't), would be burying them in guarantee submissions for coins that don't qualify.
