Who has the best deal on Breen's Encyclopedia?

And do you all have one?

RYK · April 26, 2006 12:10PM

I have one. I purchased it new from an Amazon.com reseller, using a gift certificate to defray the cost. I NEVER use it, and it takes up too much space on the shelf.

zenny · April 26, 2006 12:11PM

i think i see a "done deal" coming up.....

I mean for me Robert?

RYK · April 26, 2006 12:16PM

Sorry, Tom, I am using it to kill roaches.

Coxe · April 26, 2006 12:17PM

Retail, I think Brooklyn Gallery had a good price relative to most others years back, possibly still.
Resale market, look on eBay and places like that.

RCI (who advertises in the classified ads in the back of Coin World) is offering copies of Breen for $89.95 postpaid. The phone number in their ad is 586-773-9540.

I have a copy. I haven't looked at it in a while, but I found it very useful for introductory info on different coin series and I still refer to it from time-to-time for variety and die info.

mrearlygold · April 26, 2006 12:53PM

I was just going to ask about RCI. Good one Dave

pharmer · April 26, 2006 12:54PM

Try Stanton Books.

Unless you want it this century.

SamByrd · April 26, 2006 1:13PM

numonebuyer · April 26, 2006 1:43PM

Which book?

Walter Breen wrote quite a few books.

I have two, one at home, and one for the office. I think both were bought on line. Try used book searches like ALIBRIS and AMAZON.

It's a great first reference and often points me to sources I hadn't thought of. We gotta get RYK's head out of those gold coins

mrearlygold · April 26, 2006 2:29PM

Abe Books seems to have some good deals. I just bought a couple extra Pattern books to give to customers.

ER · April 26, 2006 2:41PM

Bought mine from Wal-Mart last year, $79, brand new.

Longacre · April 27, 2006 2:32AM

The book can be found a lot of places for around $85. The suggestions above are good ones.

With all your money, mrearlygold, why is price an issue?

Barndog · April 27, 2006 2:36AM

I'll bet if you wait long enough and check the BST every so often, RTS will post one for sale at a very good price.

dorancoins · April 27, 2006 6:28AM

If you're looking for numismatic books, try my site - www.dorancoins.com - and click on "Supplies".

Where?

It's a book that I think every coin collector should have in their library Mr Longacre.

I don't remember who was selling it but I bought mine on the BST board for $35 and it was in perfect shape.
