1887/6 Proof 3CN with CLASHED DIE!

This is a first for me. I have a number of Proof 3CN and I've looked at scores of others in person and in pictures. I just purchased an 1887/6 3CN PCGS PF65 with definite die clashing on the reverse. You can see Liberty's hair ribbons on one side and it ends up hitting up against the last "I" with part of her profile on the other side. Yes, this is extremely common on business strikes, more often on the earlier years. But on a Proof? Anyone else heard of this or have one? I cannot supply a picture because I don't have the proper equipment to take a good shot. Breen mentions something about them polishing away die clashing. Perhaps this is evidence of an earlier die state? The bottom loop of the "6" is pretty evident, under the bar of the "7".

This is the coin I purchased.

The coin is gorgeous with just some light hazing on the obverse (as evident in the scan) and some milky haze over the date. It has medium+ mirrors, on the cusp of deep which is tough for Proof 3CN.

I never seen a clashed proof before. Amazing. I do hope it's not a photo messup of some kind.

Oh, you have the coin in hand and can confrm? Wonderful.

Gotta be a hangover day when they start clashing dies on PROOFs, it's not like the same lightning speed as the production stuff!

Here are some so-so pix of the coin. What looks like a cut on Liberty's chin is actually on the holder. There are no marks or spots of any significance on this coin. Just some good ol' honest clashing! You'll barely notice on the reverse in the right field where there's a hint (much better in hand, though, than the picture) of Liberty's hair ribbon and hair clashed. It's very evident by what appears to be a disturbance up against the last "I".
