New Member Intro
Hello:
I have collected U.S. coins off and on for many years, but with no real focus. I’ve lurked here for a while reading the posts, & just recently decided to join. The recent discussions and fabulous picture posts of several Dansco 7070 type sets have inspired me to assemble a set of my own.
I’m excited about this new project; I just received my album and started this venture a little less than 2 weeks ago. So far (besides the most modern pieces) I’ve added a Peace Dollar, FB Mercury Dime, Type I Buffalo & “No Cents” Liberty Nickels; all MS65 & MS66 NGC crack-outs. Of course, as I add some of the tougher coins, budget constraints will limit grades (some will be severely limited), but I hope to be able to assemble an attractive set. I have been “window shopping” for several types, but realize I need to take it slow & learn more.
I look forward to my new venture, and I believe the things I’ve learned (and continue to learn) on this forum will be extremely valuable. I probably won't post a great deal, but I’ll be reading the many informative posts with great interest. I’ll add my 2 ¢ when it feels right. Thanks.

Type collecting is very cool.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Now listen boy, I'm tryin' to teach you sumthin' . . . . that ain't an optical illusion, it only looks like an optical illusion.
My mind reader refuses to charge me. . . . . . .
Welcome to the forums. Happy for fresh faces always.
