Very nice. Just don't crack it out of the ANACS holder and submit it to PCGS.

Russ, if you're suggesting that it's AT, I can assure you it's not.

Neither is this one that used to be in an ANACS holder and has now been bodybagged twice at PCGS:

The difference is that the one you just posted looks AT. I wouldn't have submitted that to any service.

In any case, stick to the accented hairs my friend and leave NT vs AT to the Big Boys.

Yeah, right. Crack yours out and send it to PCGS. Then come back and tell us what happened, "big boy".

Russ, since I know my coin is NT, why would I crack it and pay to have it graded by another service?.....to satisfy your ignorance on the subject? No thanks.

Do "nads" help one determine the authenticity of toning on coins? If so, perhaps yours are defective.

If you have some more coins that you're wondering about, I'd be happy to tell you whether they're NT or not. Just let me know.

I'll let you in on a little secret, bunky. The guy who owns the coin I posted has forgotten more about Carvers then you'll ever know. I'll take his word over yours any day of the week. To put it another way, your cluelessness is hanging way out there.

Russ is making a valid point -- it does not matter "IF" the coin is NT, what matters is whether they will slab it as NT...I agree the ANACS coin may not be slabbed by PCGS, but I am NOT saying it is AT...that's a far different question.image

Perhaps one of the things your friend forgot about Carvers is that the one you posted is AT.

Russ, am I detecting that you're feeling a bit sensitive today?

    bunky?

You're right, Russ, the toning on that seller's coins looks a lot like the toning on my coin......??????? You're argument is deteriorating as this thread continues. Bluster is not debate.

You know, it's okay to just admit that you don't know a lot about NT vs AT. I certainly won't hold it against you.

My assessment is the following regarding SeattleSlammer's Washington-Carver,

I have seen similarly toned coins that "appear" much more obvious in my opinion to be AT that live in TPG slabs. I have also seen examples that "appear" much more obvious to me to be NT, get body-bagged. At the end of the day, your coin is in an ANACS holder, so they felt it was certainly market acceptable. I'd leave it right where it is because the pendulum of the TPG's decisions regarding AT and NT can be quite fragile. I will say it looks good to me.image

    Play nice boys.

For what it's worth my two cents say the color progression is a bit odd but I'm not positive it's AT. How bout a pic of the reverse?

Oh, he produces plenty that look very much like yours, including a recently infamous Peace Dollar that got in to an NGC holder.

Russ, would you care to show me one that he's selling that looks like mine? As for that Peace dollar, I do remember it, and I never would have thought it to be NT.

In any case, at least you don't have to worry about NT vs AT with your accented hairs. Stick to those, bunky.

I cannot tell if this coin is AT or not. The eveness of the color rings looks a little too uniform to be NT.

ANACS was likely not too worried about grading such an inexpensive issue, even IF they were not sure it was NT. PCGS values this coin at only $20.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
