Any good Coin Shops in Manhattan?
I am going to be going to Manhattan on a business trip a couple of days next week. Are there any good coin shops that I can visit while I am there? I'll be staying on Broadway. Thanks.

If you want to see some really high-end coins in an old-fashioned environment, by all means, go to Stack's. (They also have a great book selection, so if there's anything uncommon you need for your library, ask them.)
I don't know if Smythe is set up for walk-in visitors, but they might be worth a visit.
Also, you probably don't want to miss either the ANS or the Federal Reserve Bank exhibit.

For a second I thought you were going to list Mark Feld and Todd Imhof again even though they can't be farther from NYC...they seem like the only dealers you ever recommend for anything remotely related to coins.
There are several dealers who are located on 45th Street in Midtown as well.

Yes- if you will be here over the weekend it would be worth it to rent a car & go to this. EASY to get to from the city as well. It starts at 9am. Maybe you could get a late
afternoon flight home. You won't be disappointed & you'll probably run into a few forum members as well.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Smythe has a small, minimally stocked gallery at its offices. Usually, it's best to call for an appointment so that we can bring requested types of material out from our back offices.
Also, we have a great auction on March 7. If you'll be in town before then, you should check it out.

I have heard that Stack's can be somewhat intimidating if you have never been there before.
Care to share what happened when you went there that made you not want to go back?

Indifference. They apparently had better things to do in spite of the fact that I was the only customer in the store.
They showed me nothing. I had wanted to visit Stack's for 30 years and was very disappointed with my treatment.

That has been my experience as well, both in the store and on the phone. Not just once. They often have coins that interest me so I have continued to deal with them through the years and the difficult attitude has not changed.
