If it makes you happy.....it's all good. Personally, I would crack it out and spend it.

Is the writing on the slab or on the dollar itself??
  • I would say image, but it is really much worse than that.

It's on the coin itself, not the slab. image

    Woah image

It's cool. I hate the slab, but like the concept and I think it's the real Mccoy. I hope I don't get kicked out a the ANA for saying so.image

BTW...wouldn't g.g. be considered initials and not an autograph?

It is bordering on lame for me.

Another fine deception. Signature may be real. (?)
I would guess the seller hopes it brings in the same money as a Goodacre presentation dollar to an uninformed bidder.
It's rotated in the slab and the signature appears to be on the plastic in the clear field area so you couldn't even crack it our or straighten the coin without loosing the initials.

To me, this coin has a value of $1 only. It's despicable.

fine print: The above is strictly my opinion on the example given and in no way is meant to be a negative statement regarding ACG or it's services. image

I'm going to have to say "LAME" right now, but assuming the signature is authentic, in 100 years or so it will be "COOL".

Think how neat a Morgan dollar autographed by George Morgan himself would be.

I think it is cool, if it is a real autograph. Reminds me of this one:

As we say in New England: WICKED lame!

I have roll of those at home. Well, actually I have a black Sharpie™ and can make a roll of those at home...

And I would imagine that any COA I could produce with my computer would be just as good as an ACG holderimage

That's exactly what mine look like, and I'm not the only one that brought her coins to sign. I will look for my coins tonight and post pictures.

From what I understand, Goodacre was signing at a major show back in 2000. Collectors were lining up to have her sign just about anything and everything. Someone came up with the idea to have her sign (or, initial, as someone else has pointed out in this thread) a few Sacagawea dollars.

These were then taken directly over to ACG's table as they were the only ones slabbing, on site, at the show. ANACS stated they would have also slabbed the coins but at the time were not slabbing/ or on-site grading.

Obviously, because the coins are marked on the coin PCGS and NGC would have nothing to do with the shananigans.

I don't see these turn up often and the other Sacagawea thread (focused on the Goodacre dollars) got me to thinking about this coin stuck way in the back of my "D" box (that's for STMAN).

I agree it's both lame and cool (ok... mostly lame!) at the same time.

Who knew back in 2000 that the follow-up would be continued foolishness and tomfoolery what with signed modern commemoratives; 911 coins; SMS 2005 sets and whatnot... image

    FINALLY-smoeone who understands cool.
That said, I think it is $15 cool, not $150 cool.

Think about the extra buck or two we value lamo Bremer's inititals on an 09-s. Surely Glenna's initials are worth smoething
