No, if anything it looks like they were tough on it. Nice coin.
  • MS60 seems ok to me.

I don't see any wear. What do you see to make you think it's overgraded?

Well,I honestly thought it was a high end piece for the grade at least high end for an MS-60. However the sale price made me wonder if I missing something here?
  • There is some wear on the shield on the reverse...................

AU55. There is slight wear evident.

About uncirculated details, questionable toning, Net AU-55

    I agree with AU55.

Looks like smoe wear and cleaning marks underneath the toning. Without the coin in hand, yada, yada, yada...

If the picture is correct, the little black areas around the the devices sing out:

"Deller's, Dellers', I've been rubbed with Deller's Darkener
Deller's Darkener, ... And then warmed with a nice incandescent lamp!"

    yes.
the spots on the neck should have knocked down the eye
appeal factor a bit. just enough in my humble opinion, to make
it AU. others mentioned the shield.

ANACS is usually where it goes when it can't get past PCGS or NGC during upgrade process because of a problem...

That statement is not true, just food for thought image

I am not implying that ANACS only grades problem coins, but that many coins because of their own policy of "openness" with encapsulating coins become suspect, but they are trusted and the real question is :

    Can ya flip it ?

Easily , if I know you, Hayden image

Wow, you guys are tough. Remember, the mint was still getting used to using the new Cupro-nickel alloy. The coin is clearly uncirculated, albeit still had a hard life. The sheild on the reverse is weak due to striking, but the coin is still very well-struck.

The color is natural, although looks very dirty. Must have been sitting in the open, not ground, and lots of dust and muck fell on it.

Still, the price you paid was a good price, not a rip, but a good price.

Ummm guys, that was my auction and my sale price!image I got hit pretty hard on that one, think I paid $155 for it. As I said I was rather suprised at the sale price since the other Indians I've sold on eBay have always done great. Of course they were also later date 63-64 RBs,but still...

I know nothing about this series. For those who say wear (or those who say weak strike) , are you expert in the series?

Your hammer price seems to be in line with the price guides. I share your pain - would have liked to see you do better, but...

The coin is likely MS... the color just does not look close...
