Robert, he had said this about the Indian Cent, though:
<< <i>I will follow thru with the IHC but other than that the auction is off. >>
Edited to add: In his defense, perhaps the bidders on the Indian Cent backed out. In their defense, perhaps they didn't back out. In my defense, for the sake of fairness, I prefer that both sides of a story be heard.
What he was doing here did not work. This coin was his personal coin so I suppose he can do what he wants with it. The grade put up in the Ebay Auction is very optimistic though.
After the amount of controversy generated by the AHA auction - I decided to forget about it.
If the high bidder on the coin here on the forum wants it, they can just PM me and let me know. I will, of course, honor any previous commitments. I'll take down the bay auction and forward the funds to the AHA.
The guy tries to help a charity and get's a boat load of grief for his efforts.Grade of a coin should not matter when a coin is auctioned for charity your bid is basicly a donation isn't it?Why rag on someone for trying to do a good deed?

Sorry, but that doesn't excuse what looks to some here, like over-grading. A potential donor should be entitled to make a donation and still receive an item as described.

He also received some very good/fair feedback, which he did not handle in a manner that was likely to help the charity.

Unless, of course, it pertains to unique markers on a coin.

What is the disposition of those coins?

You have to be kidding!

I've been wondering the exact same thing...
