Fresh Meat!!!
Thought I would say it before Russ does. Hello everyone. I am glad to be here a part of a fantastic group of people. I have been lurking about for a month now and decided to join in on the fun. A little about me. I have been collecting coins now for about 6 months. So I have a fairly good baseline of knowledge on what I am interested in such as early commemoratives, merc dimes, buffalo nicks, and wheats. I do metal detect on the side and am waiting for old man winter to release his cold grip on us to go out again. I am 28 and have a wife with a baby on the way! Full time blue collar worker. The reason I enjoy collecting coins is the history behind them is so neat to imagine, the possibilities are endless from John Dillenger to Al Capone holding them at some point. Or just the everyday person and all the many hands the coin has been in. Very cool. My grandpa really planted the seed back in "86" with giving me some coins to start out with. He gave me several wheats, and a couple of peace dollars. I have them still in 2X2's, but I didn't really gain full interest until last year about this time. Took my time studing up on them and started to purchase some coins at my local coin dealer back in Sept. So I am here now and want to grow in my knowledge of the hobby with you folks. I thank you for your time. Oh ya btw my name is Chris.

WELCOME!
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
