  That coin does not look authentic to me.

  I agree. That's probably not a solder spot, but rather the spot where the metal was poured into a cast mold.

  I have to agree with the others. The lettering and devices seem a little too mushy and indistinct, even considering that it's well-worn. Here's an 1847 for comparison (IMO undergraded by PCGS as an EF45):
