Help me sell my coins. Is this starting price to low for this coin? Is my auction descriptive enough? Any advice or help for this type of auction? thanks... ebay item
We collectors look for certain things, among them are: 1. A unconditional return (Gets more folks to bid) 2. A very low starting bid, if possible 3. Low postage. 4. Insurance, for items greater than $50, is NOT optional as it protects you, the seller. Always require it. 5. Great pictures, obverse and reverse
Also, in your auction, you state that you opened a roll of 1963 Kennedy halves, those are Franklin halves.
Good luck and may the wind be at your back and the ground rise to meet your feet.
Selling one of what at a time? You only mention one coin since the edit and then you mention you will sell one of them at a time. Short descriptions with mistakes are usually a turn off.
I agree with the pic thing. Do a search on this forum because there are numerous threads on how to take a decent photo.
Hello You do not have any bids yet so you can still revise your ad. Go to your ad at the top it will say, revise your ad,. Click on this to change your ad. 1- Remove the word Kennedy 2- Lower your ins. to $1.30 and make it required 3- Use better photos showing both obverse & reverse 4- Establish a return policy 5- Lower your starting bid (Let them start bidding) Have FUN

Make the insurance mandatory and use the blue slip which requires a signature and i will tell you why.
Flea Bay / Pay Pal requires proof of delivery if a dispute arises.
EX: You use delivery confirm,AKA green slip, that only proves it was delivered SOMEWHERE !
The blue INS slip proves somebody signed for it !,Blue slips are used for insurance over 50 bucks and the first 100 bucks is 2.20
If you use the blue form,EBAY and PAYPAL will accept that as proof of delivery,if you dont,105% of the time if somebody says they did not recieve the item you will lose a dispute !
If you use a blue slip,105 % of the time you will win a dispute.
We have always found that FREE shipping and insurance more then pays for itself with increased bid over the long haul. No one wants to pay $3.95 shipping for a coin they might win for $3.
Dont take anything here personal (not that I think that you are) these fine folks might be coming off harder than you expected, but I'd say it's all great advice. Good luck on your auctions

Yes. I would charge $3, including insurance, and combine S/H costs for multiple wins (encourages browsers to check your other auctions). One Frankie in a #000 bubble mailer, insured for up to $50, costs $1.90 to ship.
I'd photoshop the cloth out of your background or shoot the photo on a coin board instead. Maybe it's just me but I don't like to see a raw coin laying on a surface that could affect the coin.

If you want to sell that SAE, you may want to list an obverse picture in your auction.
Personally I don't think I would buy any of your coins currently listed because of lack of pictures, especially in your franklin halves. I would want to see the coin's I recieve.
Further more I think you started them a little high for my liking.
I have to get that price in order to make mabey 2 bucks. other wise I think ebay will be a waste of my time. If these coins dont sell, I wont sell on ebay or at all. my time is worth more than 2 bucks.
the eagle was white on the other side yesterday and has started to tone overnight . I had to edit the coin today good thing I look at it again. my description was white on the other side.
Using the terms "bright brilliant" and "light golden toning" when describing the same coin will be be confusing to many buyers and will result in someone being unhappy with the coin they receive no matter how little they paid for it.

It started to "tone" overnight??? You must live in an area that has a very high sulfur content.
Here's another thought -- I know you are probably just messing around with toning that 2005 eagle, but -- if you want to sell coins, credibility is absolutely everything. Folks will be able to see for a long time that one of your sales was that AT mess. You make no mention in the add, by the way, of your "work" on that coin, by the way -- it is obvious to most of us, but it is also obvious that, since you don't mention it, you are sort of hoping for someone to walk along who thinks it happened by itself somehow.
Starting your ebay career by advertising that you are a (not very good) coin doctor is probably a bad long-term business move.

Either you like redundancy (bright brilliant?) or were key-wording!

There you go again, engaging the keyboard without firing up the brain. Many coins that are "BU" are not "bright".

As an 'ol timer, BU means "brillant uncirculated".
