62/63?
The pictures are a bit dark and it's hard to tell if there is rub. If rub, than AU58. No rub, could be as high as 62.

There appears to be rub on the portrait and curl and luster breaks. A later date coronet $5 should not make MS under the circumstances. It is a nice coin.
we all can agree it is a very nice AU58, hands down.
and that is exactly what i paid, $230. According to the PCGS price guide this is AU money.
Now, the grade is PCGS MS61. So many of you nailed it. Heck coinkat
nailed it with the small pics. Quite the eye he has.
RYK,
what I am trying to figure out is if the hair has rub, why is there so much luster left in that area? Maybe the strike is not so hot.. yet
the luster is still there.
I really like the fields on this coin. So clean. Lots of luster and the
breaks in it are easy on the eye.
So, I feel I got a good buy this time. MS61 in the PCGS price guide is a ridiculous 345 for a very common half eagle. I had to snipe this from 2 others that night on ebay, who must have also saw a deal with this coin. My max bid was 240.
thank you everyone!
i see double posts and i am getting a lot of lag.
oh well. thanks again everyone
yea, i am beginning to feel the exact same way.
it is AU58, old school grading that is. now days? MS61 due to
the luster that has not been cleaned off by dipping/cleaning/etc..
