The killer are these lines:
Lincoln Cent Wheatbacks 1909-1958
...
and a significant proportion of 90% SILVER PRE-1964 COINS:
In a lot advertised as "silver."
A few dozen common wheaties will sink you. There are approximately 81 cents in half a pound.
Still, the guy has 100% feedback, so the people buying are happy. For newbies short on time or non-collectors looking for a quick gift for a young collector, a lot of legwork is done, and a person can buy something in a couple of clicks. This time of year, that time savings might very well be worth $12. I know a lot of folks who will trade that amount of money for some extra time. Put the batch in a toy treasure chest, or even bury it in a coffee can and give out a treasure map as the gift. This kind of thing will be more fun than most coin gifts given to non-collectors. Sure you can put together better coins for the money, but it will take some time (or a generous benefactor donating his/her time).
I'd rather buy a box of Wheat Thins.
And. A can of Easy Cheese.
You don't really believe that word unsearched now do you?
That always gets me when someone says they are all wheatback cents or all silver and unsearched. How do they know what they are unless the searched them??????????
