What would you do?? 1889-CC advise needed...

I would like to have a "nice" graded or ungraded 1889-CC and would like to know your decision. I have about $2200 worth of the 1999 and 2001 silver proofs sets. Would you sell these sets to buy a nice 1889-CC or hold the silver proof sets? I think I know the answer, but want to hear other opinions.

Any suggestions for a different low pops coin?

I would like to have at least an F12 1889-CC and would like to know what is a good price to pay for this grade in slabbed and unslabbed condition?

Please help with how much I should pay. I know it will vary depending on the coin, but an average will help.

Thanks for any input.

Hold the silver proofs until 2009 then sell away

Just to let you know the silver proofs are todays value. I dont have that many sets, 4-1999, 7-2001.

If you are talking Morgan $, you are gonna pay more than $400 for a F12.......

The Morgan I posted is an F12, you can do way better for the money you have.

BTW, I traded in about $300.00 face of 40% silver and some other junk 90% to buy it. I only have about $500 in it and was willing to pay the full retail price of $900.00 for it.

Just as I thought, plan on spending about $1000.00 for a F12 specimen of the SEMI-KEY date coin!

My thoughts also. Its just that the offers I have are right at the Coin Value and PCGS price guide. Dont those guides seem a little high if your the buyer? I'm just hung up on what to pay.

I think you can do best at a show or on a Heritage auction. JMHO.

I would say sell off some of the spare proof sets and get the CC Dollar.....

Holding on to a few of these sets is likely advisable however.....

Keep 2 of each of the proof sets, and buy about $1200 worth of 89-CC. If these sets make a bigger run in the future than your 89-CC, sell one more of each and upgrade your dollar.
