Excellent example of a true beauty and this coin speaks volumes about seeking coins in a high end circulated grade. Congrats on an outstanding example. She is a keeper...

EDITED TO ADD: The coin is worthy of an original surfaces designation.

  • Is there a recognized variety designation for the doubling? That is cool.

  • I don't know what you all are so happy about. The last time I had a double chin I got nothing but grief from my friends and family. image

That looks like a neat Half! I would have hours of fun studying that baby if it were in my hands.

Now if it were owned by a non-forum member I would probably hate it...

Is that a "2" under the "1" in the date?

If so, is it considered an overdate of some kind?

    Very cool coin!

No, it's basically machine doubling. The bounce effect I guess. More commonly found in the 1823-25 dates.

I don't believe so. It's not an over-date. Thanks for the comments folks. I grabbed this one at the last Santa Clara show.
She fits right in with my "other" Wimminimage As many of you know I just love these double profiles. Makes Bust collecting even
more interesting. And when I see them like this it just brings a grin to my face. Enjoy!
