Looks to have VF35 to EF40 details and above average overall eye appeal.
Appears to have what they call "old cleaning" and very nice and even "album toning"
Doesn't seem like it's hairlined abrasively, but has a "soap and watered" or maybe mild "baking soda'd" look
Some marks on the face, neck, and in the fields are not too uncommensurate with a Vf or Ef coin..
however, they should be described for accuracy, and factored in, I'd call this one VF30 or so.
as a check: Yes, I'd probably snap it up at VF20 money and pass at an EF40 price.
All remarks are based on the picture, but I would need to see it in hand. One must be on the lookout for hidden tooling on such a nice looking coin.. Really need to see it better.
WANT to see it better, do you have another pic?

EF-40...reverse rim damage, Miss Liberty seems to have some major marks or issues, planchet looks rough or porous

A very nice XF 45, not quite AU.

Probably won't grade, as an old cleaning, and rim dings at 5 o'clock.

    But a great collector coin.

Is old cleaning that big of a deal? Still learning, but amazes me that there would be that many 200+ year old coins that haven't been touched in one way or the other over the years.

not that big of a deal if it's not to harsh or heavily hairlined

Well, you'd rather not have it. and the less "done" to an old coin, the better.
would you be looking at this '96 dime if it had been scrubbed with steel wool?

Still learning, but amazes me that there would be that many 200+ year old coins that haven't been touched in one way or the other over the years

you're absolutely right, "unmessed" coins are very rare and desireable!

that's why "original" coins are so valuable!

the rim damage and marks on the face would bother me more than an old cleaning

unless the cleaning was to smooth out some planchet roughness

all this being said without seeing the coin in person

No, it is not that big a deal--if it was done properly. As for untouched 200 year old coins...at least 90 to 95 percent of all TPG (yes even PCGS) bust material has been cleaned--in many instances more noticeably than this coin.

The only reason it might not slab would be the rim dings--and I have seen worse in top-tier slabs.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

    well after the fact

and since i do not have the coin sight seen in front of me only a photo

choice vf+ details or now called xf-40 a true xf is an xf45 a slabbing service xf40 is just a nice vf always has been and is till today tomorrow i do not know about

net graded to choice fine due to mild to possible medium cleaning also reverse rim/edge disturbances/damage and environmental /maybe purposeful surface damage

If anyone has small eagle bust coins that look like this, selling for Fine-15 money, please sell to me, I'd like to buy a couple rolls

Probably XF40 by current standards. VF-XF by earlier standards. The damage and burnishing detract. I'd net grade it as VF20.

I think the coin easily has XF detail. The cleaning and rim damage certainly lower the value to VF.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

ANACS would say XF 45 details, damaged. I don't think NGC or PCGS would holder it...Mike

I think Dale pretty much nailed it, though I'd want to see it in person to render an opinion as to whether I thought it would grade.

First of all you get a big YOU SUCK!

I would not be surprised if you get that in a problem free holder.

    Def nice EF45 details.

I don't suck, it isn't mine. I just had no way to tell what the condition and value might be since there is little for me to compare it to, it's not like the Buffalos and such I normally buy...
