We all can claim to be numismatists, but other than your profession, are you another "ist"
I am also an aquariaist ( I'm pretty sure that's the spelling)....I have a 30 gallon "community" tank, and I raise pure-bred "bumble-bee" fancy tail guppies that I trade back to the fish store for plants, supplies, other fish, etc. The nice thing is that with all the kids having moved out, I have an extra room where I keep my computer, copy stand, some coins ( a good many coins...), and 2 aquariums. Needless to say, I spend alot of time in that room! Just curious about what other enthusiasms we've got along with our coins.

Don't you know that it's worth
every treasure on Earth
to be young at heart?
And as rich as you are,
it's much better by far,
to be young at heart!

The problem with finding cool coins in my business is that after you find them, they go into a plastic bad to be mishandled by lab people and put in a box never to see the light of day. Quite depressing!!!
Bikenut, those tours sound awesome! I have tourned Nova Scotia with only a tent and sleeping bag. Mostly, I race road and cyclocross. Turn on you PM function and we can chat about it!

At the Bog School we stayed outside. There was tons of hard work. The kids built it from the wreck of an old hill farm, with the stuff they found. They read only the most dangerous books. Nothing was taught without debating its civic and social implications. We left them unsupervised plenty, and they bloomed. Everything was provocative. I thought I was Socrates. Then the South America trip ended at around the 30th army roadblock. The hitchhiker with the sack of carrots? They were hollow, packed with coke. We made our phonecall from behind bars in La Paz, and the parents got a phone tree going. The embassy got in on it. Money changed hands until one by one the kids flew home. I was the last one out; when I got back there was no Bog School. That was my hemlock, I guess. It was May of '73. But the signs are up again at all the co-ops, and the old barn has been singing with hammers and saws all summer. I think we'll get her back running yet. Certain kinds of corruption can only sleep for so long.

Aquarist here too. I had a 55g salt-water tank and 75 fresh but shut the freshwater down and converted it to salt-water. I hated doing that. I had 4 silver dollars(the fish variety)
Besides that I've been lifting weights for about 20 years. Competitive powerlifting for a few years but the poor shoulders just couldn't handle it anymore. Bad tendonitis set in so now I'm back to just being another weenie gymrat.

Cool! I have always wanted to go back into school for archaeology. Probably won't happen but I have always enjoyed the study and research and discovery involved. Working with the govt would suck, though.

I like the story. Something that brief often has problems holding together an keeping the readers interest. This one worked well. I wouldn't mind trying some more of your works.
